Orion Software Development Releases Version 2.0 of the Outcome Data Management System for Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation

This release advances the lead that Orion Software Development has created in the arena of clinical outcome management. Version 2.0 enhances the outcome process by focusing on risk factor profiling for cardiac patients and programs. The inclusion of additional data collection tools provides more choices to meet program needs. In addition, the functionality of the database has been upgraded to provide unlimited options for analyzing and report outcome data.

Outcome Tools

  • New! SF-36v2™ – This new version improves readability and introduces a new norm-based scoring metaphor for easily understandable scores.
  • New! SF-12v2™ – An even shorter – 1-page, 2-minute – health survey form has been shown to yield summary physical & mental health outcome scores that are interchangeable with those from the SF-36® in both general & specific populations.
  • New! Beck Depression Index – This test was added in order to quantify depression as a behavioral risk factor.
  • New! Duke Activity Status Index – Provides an option for self reported level of physical function.
  • New! Treadmill Test – Measure physical function with the “gold standard”. Use your choice of treadmill tests as another tool for measuring clinical outcomes.

Usability Enhancements

  • New! Online Test Administration – All tests, including SF-36v2, SF-12v2, and other tests can be administered via computer.

Reporting Upgrades

  • New! Customizable Grids – We have added new data views that allow you to sort, group and arrange data anyway you want. Grids are printable.
  • New! Continuous Quality Improvement Report – Select your interval to track and report changes in outcomes you select to measure and report performance improvement projects.
  • New! Sparse Outcome Printing – Only outcomes that are collected will appear on reports. In previous versions, all outcomes appeared whether they were collected at your facility or not.
  • New! Inactivation of Patients – We have added the ability to mark a patient as inactive, in case they move or are deceased, so that they no longer appear in tracking reports.
  • Improved! Report Filters – 14 different filters with advance options such as greater than, less than, multiple selections, etc.
  • New! Patient Name Format – Choose from over 10 formats for printing patient names on reports.
