Oklahoma Association Endorses Orion Outcomes as Statewide Solution

Sharing Common Vision of Integrating Standardized Outcomes into the Clinical Routine

Longmont, Colorado — October 15, 2002 — Orion Software Development, the leading provider of medical outcome software solutions, today announced a strategic partnership with the Oklahoma Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (OKCVPR), an organization comprised of multi-disciplinary members representing the field of Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation across the state of Oklahoma. As a result of the partnership, OKCVPR has chosen Orion Outcomes as the outcomes standard for the state. Programs in the state will utilize Orion Software Development’s Orion Outcomes software either as a standalone data collection system, or in conjunction with one of the cardiac rehabilitation monitoring system manufacturers to facilitate outcome collection, analysis, and benchmarking in cardiac & pulmonary rehabilitation programs across Oklahoma.

For benchmarking, OKCVPR will be contributing to the growing national cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation outcomes database run by the Indiana Society of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (ISCVPR). With over 25,000 patient profiles, the database currently has over 500 programs participating from 46 different states. “We are very happy to have Oklahoma joining in our effort for a national benchmarking database”, said Steven Jungbauer, ISCVPR Outcomes Committee Chair. “We now have 11 states that have formally endorsed our vision for a national outcomes database.”

“OKCVPR is assuming a leadership role in promoting standardized outcome measurement within our state society”, said Lisa Medina, RN, BSN, and OKCVPR President “We are very excited about our decision to work with Orion Software Development in this pursuit. We chose the software from Orion Software Development for the following reasons:

  • Orion Outcomes provides a comprehensive program with multiple data points
  • Orion Outcomes is compatible with the major rehabilitation telemetry systems
  • Orion Outcomes provides a user-friendly format”

“Orion Outcomes is the de facto standard outcome tool in the cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation clinics around the world,” said Brandon Fuller, President of Orion Software Development. “Our relationship with the rehabilitation clinicians of Oklahoma will help bring Orion Outcomes to an even broader audience, making standardized outcome collection & analysis universal for rehabilitation programs across the state. We are excited to have their endorsement.”
