Missouri-Kansas Association Endorses Orion Outcomes Program as Statewide Solution

Sharing Common Vision of Integrating Standardized Outcomes into the Clinical Routine

Longmont, Colorado — August 15, 2002 — Orion Software Development, the leading provider of medical outcome software solutions, today announced a strategic partnership with the Missouri Kansas Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (MOKSACVPR), an organization comprised of the Missouri and Kansas affiliates of the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR). As a result of the partnership, MOKSACVPR has chosen the Orion Outcomes Program as the standard for the two-state region. Programs in the two states will utilize Orion Software Development’s Outcome Data Management System software either as a standalone data collection system, or in conjunction with one of the cardiac rehabilitation monitoring system manufacturers, such as Quinton Instruments, to facilitate outcome collection, analysis, and benchmarking in cardiac & pulmonary rehabilitation programs across the two-state region.

For benchmarking, MOKSACVPR will be contributing to the growing national cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation outcomes database run by the Indiana Society of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (ISCVPR). With over 25,000 patient profiles, the database currently has over 500 programs participating from 46 different states. “We are very happy to have both Missouri and Kansas joining in our effort for a national benchmarking database”, said Steven Jungbauer, ISCVPR Outcomes Committee Chair. “We now have 10 states that have formally endorsed our vision for a national outcomes database.”

“We are very excited about our decision to work with Orion Software Development”, said Jan Foresman RN, MS, FAACVPR, MOKSACVPR President. “We chose the software from Orion Software Development due to its widespread use, cost effectiveness, user friendliness, and the ability of our data to be turned around in an efficient manner. The use of Orion’s software reflects our affiliate’s goals to make a difference for both our state programs and the patients we serve. We look forward to showing that we provide quality programs here in the Midwest and that our patients truly receive excellent care”.

“The Outcome Data Management System has rapidly become the de facto standard outcome tool in the cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation clinics around the world,” said Brandon Fuller, President of Orion Software Development. “Our relationship with the rehabilitation clinicians of Missouri and Kansas will help bring the Outcome Data Management System to an even broader audience, making standardized outcome collection & analysis universal for rehabilitation programs across in the region.”

The Outcome Data Management System is immediately available from Orion Software Development and its distributors.
